INTRODUCING... THE CABINET CONFERENCE!
Two years ago witnessed the debut of the highly successful Closets & Home Organization Conference.

Now, following closely in the footsteps of that premier event, comes a major educational conference geared for cabinet manufacturing executives from throughout North America.

Organized by Wood & Wood Products and Custom Woodworking Business magazines, the Cabinet Conference will anchor the Seventh Texas Woodworking Show in Dallas. The three-day Cabinet Conference will include a comprehensive seminar program covering manufacturing, marketing and design topics tailored to cabinet shops of all sizes.

KCMA and AWI on board
Led by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association, the Cabinet Conference has the support of several major trade associations. Other Participating Associations include the Architectural Woodwork Institute, the Association of Closet and Storage Professionals and the Wood Component Manufacturers Association.

National Cabinet Conference kicks off today
The inaugural Cabinet Conference opened today to approximately 100 cabinet manufacturing executives from throughout North America at the Renaissance Dallas Hotel. The three-day Cabinet Conference is a comprehensive seminar program covering manufacturing, marketing and design topics tailored to cabinet shops of all sizes.

Onsite conference registration is still available for all three days, Wednesday only or for Thursday-Friday only.

Two all-day workshops, one on Lean Manufacturing and the other on Cost Estimating & Bidding, highlight today’s program.

Thursday and Friday sessions include 11 one-hour seminars, plus two free keynote presentations by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Assn.. Thursday’s free session focuses on the growing impact of environmental issues on cabinetmakers. Friday’s free keynote will feature a financial forecast of the cabinet industry and the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. Both one-hour sessions begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Renaissance Hotel.

Organized by Wood & Wood Products and Custom Woodworking Business magazines, the Cabinet Conference anchors the Seventh Texas Woodworking Show in Dallas . The Texas Woodworking show features an expansive exhibit hall with hundreds of new products, machinery, software and services from leading companies in the industrial woodworking market.

Louis and Company Backs Texas Woodworking Show

Louis and Company has thrown its support behind the 7th Annual Texas Woodworking Show & Cabinet Conference. The Brea, CA-based distributor of hardware, decorative laminates and other products, is the major sponsor of the three-day event scheduled for March 7-9, 2007, at Market Hall of the Dallas Market Center and the adjacent Renaissance Hotel.

The new national Cabinet Conference also has five association partners, including the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Assn., the Architectural Woodwork Institute, the Cabinet Makers Assn., the Association of Closet and Storage Professionals and the Wood Component Manufacturers of America.

The Cabinet Conference: Manufacturing Strategies for the 21st Century, March 7-9, kicks off with a trio of full-day educational workshops on March 7. Featured presenters and topics include W&WP columnist and consultant Tom Dossenbach on Lean Manufacturing, CWB columnist and consultant Tony Noel on The Custom Cabinetmakers Business Guild and Tony Perno, managing partner of Casework Technologies, on Successful Cost Estimating & Bidding.

The three-day Cabinet Conference also includes a dozen one-hour seminars, plus two free keynote presentations by the KCMA. One of the keynotes will focus on environmental issues as they relate to cabinetmakers and the other will look ahead at opportunities and challenges facing the cabinet industry.

Trio of Workshops Lead Off Texas Cabinet Conference

DALLAS – A trio of full-day educational workshops kicks off the national Cabinet Conference March 7-9, 2007.

Each of the workshops is led by an industry expert, including:

Tom Dossenbach, wood products consultant and columnist of Wood & Wood Products. He will present a comprehensive overview of lean manufacturing. The workshop will include a case study of the lean manufacturing and continuous improvement program performed by Twin Oaks Custom Cabinets of Neosho, MO.
Tony Noel, wood products consultant and columnist of Custom Woodworking Business. He will lead a wide-ranging discussion on managing a custom cabinet shop, including hiring and training, sales and marketing, project analysis and time management.
Anthony Perno, managing partner of Casework Technologies Ltd. of Albuquerque, NM. He will conduct the popular cost estimating workshop, presented in special cooperation with the Architectural Woodwork Institute.

Days two and three of the Cabinet Conference will feature concurrent 1-hour sessions covering a variety of topics. They include nested-based manufacturing, computer integration and managing for growth. The educational sessions will be held at the Dallas Renaissance Hotel, adjacent to Dallas Market Hall, where the seventh biennial Texas Woodworking Show takes place March 8-9.

The three-day conference, geared for cabinet manufacturing executives and production supervisors, has the backing of the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Assn., the AWI, the Cabinet Makers Assn., the Wood Component Manufacturers Assn. and the Association of Closet and Storage Professionals.


CMACMA Supports Texas Cabinet Conference


DALLAS -- The Cabinet Makers Assn. is the latest professional organization to sign on as a Participating Association for the 2007 Cabinet Conference, March 7-9 in Dallas, TX. The national conference will anchor the seventh biennial Texas Woodworking Show.

Other Participating Associations include the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Assn., the Architectural Woodwork Institute, the Wood Component Manufacturers Assn. and the Association of Closet and Storage Professionals.
